My daughter said it was the best pizza she has ever had! Doesn't look special from the outside, etc but worth stopping! Really enjoyed ourselves. The lady that helped us was very nice!! Would definitely recommend as yelp recommended us!

I have been meaning to write this review for quite some time. Since the new owners took over this place, the food is FANTASTIC!! I love Calamari, the pizza sauce is perfect. When you walk in there they treat you like family. Definitely try out this place if you live in the area, and or are driving by, you will not regret it.

Two stars for great service. We were in a hotel and the cell phones kept cutting out, so they called our room back and that was really nice. The pizza arrived quicker than expected, with extra plates, and hot. That said... I use the word "pizza" generously. We had one with many meats and it was just bland: cardboard crust, tasteless sauce, bland cheese. The other was their special with (I think) sausage, peppers, onions and mushrooms. It looked great with multi-colored peppers, but again, tasteless. I see here that some of the other food gets praised, and to be fair, one of the people I was with said it was one of the best pizzas she'd had, but I don't agree.

Try their stuffed cheese pizza. They have the formula perfected and it has all the taste of a classic chicago deep dish. A cheaper alternative to lou malnati's or giordanos (not the same quality of course, but close). I discovered this place while looking for a cheap delivery (2$) restaurant and found a great quality, chicago style stuffed pizza.

I work nearby and was craving spaghetti with meat sauce. Cibo Racconto is actually much closer to my work but they did not have just plain spaghetti with meat sauce - closest thing was fettuccine bolognese which has cream in it. I decided to drive to Via Bella and was not disappointed! The woman who took my order was very friendly and gave me extra silverware. Took about 5-7 minutes to get my food after I ordered. I got my spaghetti to go and it was packed very well. I did not notice that there were baggies of Parmesan cheese in my takeout bag until I was getting ready to throw it away. Bummer! I had been wishing there was some parm on my sauce while I was eating it. But not to worry, the portions were so big that I have more than half left for lunch tomorrow and I will put the parm to good use ;). Definitely a place I will keep in mind for future cravings.

I'm surprised I haven't written review of Via Bella before, since we get takeout pizza here at least once a month, if not a couple times a month. It's literally on the opposite side of the block where we live which makes it ultra convenient for us, because it's nice to be able to walk to places occasionally in the suburbs. That being said, I really like their crust and sauce here. Their tomatoey sauce is slightly sweet and they ladle it on a little thicker here which I like. Five years ago the crust here used to be a problem. It used to be soggy and disappointing. After acquisition by a new family, their current crust might be my favorite part of their recipe. The new owners now cook the crust a bit darker and crisper than before. That hotter oven makes all the difference. If you are into wimpy cracker-thin crusts, then Villa Bella pizza is not for you. Their's is between the thickness of a Pizza Hut pan and a New York pizza. In fact if they cut it in to New York style triangles instead of the typical Chicago box slice it could probably pass for a New York style pizza. I might request that next time to see if I can get a foldable slice out of it. It might be because we are regulars or just something they do for everyone but with each pizza we order they give us fried dough sprinkled with powdered sugar. It's a nice touch when the dessert time comes around or as we're walking the pizza back home. This review is strictly for the pizza as we've never really tried and can't recall any other dishes or food there. And it's strictly for take out because the small dining area with 3-4 tables is pretty cramped.

Nice neighborhood restaurant for carry out or a quick lunch. Good pizza and decent Italian - not high class authentic, but solid. Great value lunch menu, and food is made to order. Prices are also reasonable. Small for eat in, though this is an option with about 5-6 tables. My wife and I often get carry out pizza from here since we can walk in from 1 block away. Eddie (owner) is always ready with a smile and advice on fun toppings to try on our pizza. Friendly staff as well!

We moved the neighborhood one month ago, and are frequent guests of the restaurant. To date every meal has been excellent, I'm especially a big fan of their Eggplant Parmigiana. My wife also enjoys their spaghetti with meat sauce. The service has also been top notch as well. They even let us modify or order off menu. In short, they treat us like an extended family, one that they like.

I found this place on the grubhub app, and I was happy I did. I haven't tried much on the menu, but they do make a fantastic thin crust pizza. I like to order a basic thin crust with only cheese, simple but good!

Do not eat here unless you want a supermarket crust with a little bit of tomato sauce and cheese. It was like eating plain bread. Giordanos didn't deliver to Ohare hotels so I settled for this crap. Never ever again.

My friends and I really like this place for pick up or delivery. The dining room isn't really adequate to dine in. This is more of a pick up or delivery deal. Anyway, we've ordered many different things on the menu and the food always tastes good and there's always plenty of it. Prices are very good also!

Not bad. Food's good. Atmosphere is a bit sterile. But they got a real, big, Italian guy that works the counter who is a super personable and nice guy, I gotta add a star for dat guy. Unfortunately, nothing really jumps off the menu, but it's a wide selection for a pizza place and it's all pretty good. Pizza from somewhere other than dominoes is something desperately needed in Des Plaines and via bella does a decent job filling that void. They've changed owners three or four times. Hopefully this owner can generate some business for this tasty little place! However, on the upside, there is never a line! Makes it feel like they are there just for you!

We love to order pizza from Via Bella the family owned operation takes extra care of the food they serve. My husband loves the wings, the salads are nice, and even the sandwiches are generous. My kids love there pizza and it is a real treat to order take out in this economy. It is not to expensive and the desserts are excellent too! We have never had a problem with our order and the staff is extra friendly.

Worse food ever!! I'm staying at the nearby Aloft O'Hare. Bad mistake, it didn't have a restaurant and the front desk offered 3 restaurants that delivered. Via Bella was one of them. They dared charged $17 for canned pasta sauce and spoiled clams. Worse meal in Chicago. In fact, I'm moving hotel because the experience was that bad.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
